Ellen White was born in Gorham, Maine, USA, November 26, 1827. His parents, Robert and Eunice Harmon, were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Later became Seventh-day Adventists. They had eight children, Helen and Elizabeth were the youngest of children.
Ellen White was contemporaneous with some famous women such as Elizabeth Browning, Evangeline C. Booth, Marie Curie, Florence Nightingale and Queen Victoria of England. In his own country were highlighted at the time: Susan Anthony, Clara Barton, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Sojourner Truth and Frances Willard. During his lifetime there were 22 U.S. presidents, including Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt, and his death occurred during the presidency of Woodrow Wilson.
Ellen White accepted Christ at a meeting in 1840 Methodists and was baptized by a Methodist minister in Casco Bay, Portland, Maine. In 1843, because of their belief in the imminent coming of Christ, was fired from the Methodist Church in Portland along with other family members. She married James White on 30 August 1846, and soon after their marriage, both began to keep the Sabbath. They had four children, all boys: Henry, Edson, William and Herbert.
His first vision was received in December 1844. The last vision he had known was on 3 March 1915. This vision was related to what to read young Adventists. It is estimated that in life she received two thousand visions and prophetic dreams. In November 1848 he received a vision predicting the onset and expansion of Adventist publications. A few months after this vision be given to him, appeared the first issue of The Present Truth, published in Midletown, Connecticuc. On July 5, 1863 was given the important perspective on health reform while at the Hilliard family home in Otsego, Michigan.
On August 6, 1881 her husband died, but she continued her ministry alone another 34 years. He served in Europe from 1885 to 1887, and served as a pioneer in Australia from 1891 to 1900. These eleven years of service overseas, clearly illustrates the international nature of their ministry. He wrote 2000 articles for the Adventist Review in English, and many more items for the missionary magazine Signs of the Times. Collaborated with other 500 articles for various publications. Altogether wrote 100,000 pages of your handwriting.
On 13 February 1915, took a fall at his home in St. Helena, Calif., and in that fall broke her left hip. He died on 16 July 1915. His funeral was held on July 24 in Battle Creek, Michigan. Rest in Oak Hill Cemetery of that city, next to her husband and their four children.
